Privacy and image processing
How ImageMaster Lab handles local editing, external searches, and third-party advertising integrations.
Privacy and image processing
Focused image editors use the browser FileReader and canvas APIs to work with images you select. In the included application code, these focused editing workflows do not send selected image files to an ImageMaster Lab upload endpoint. Archive search is different: searches and image requests interact with Internet Archive and an external proxy.
How to use this tool
- Choose images you have permission to edit or publish.
- Understand that visiting third-party archive sources may send standard network metadata such as your IP address.
- The site includes an AdSense publisher script; if advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to applicable consent rules.
- For privacy requests, use the site contact channel.
Practical tips
- Clearing local browser storage may affect saved state if the editor or browser stores it.
- Do not open confidential archive-search queries if you do not want them sent to external services.
- Review Google’s advertising privacy controls and the relevant third-party service policies for additional details.
Common questions
Are selected photos uploaded by the focused editors?
The focused edit flows in this release process photos in the browser rather than using an app-operated upload API.
Are archive searches local?
No. They query external services, and images may load from external domains.
Limitations: Before publishing, the operator must verify the configured support contact, geographic privacy requirements, consent setup, and all external integrations actually deployed.
